From Old French epyphanie, from Late Latin epiphania, from Ancient Greek á¼Ï€Î¹Ï†Î¬Î½ÎµÎ¹Î± (epiphaneia, "manifestation, striking appearance"), from á¼Ï€Î¹Ï†Î±Î¯Î½Ï‰ (epiphainÅ, "I appear, display"), from á¼Ï€Î¯ (epi, "upon") + φαίνω (phainÅ, "I shine, appear").
