    From Ancient Greek Ἕλλην (Hellēn, "Greek"), most probably a derivation of Ἑλλοί or Σελλοί, the Greek inhabitants of the area around the sanctuary of Dodona (Δωδώνη), itself of Pre-Greek substrate origin.
