• 1912, Proceedings of the Royal Physical Society of Edinburgh, vol. 19, p. 151:Lastly, in 1896, Kellogg described two new species, viz. D. calwu from a variety of the Common Guillemot, and D. acutipedus from a Fraterculine host.
• 1946, Handlingar, p. 122:It appears that the fraterculine alcids of the Pacific all have a complete postnuptial moult and only a partial prenuptial moult as the other alcids (cf. Stejneger 1885 a, p. 45), so probably the Puffin is quite unique ….
