    1. (biochemistry) A product of gastric and pancreatic digestion of albuminous matter, which (unlike antipeptone) is convertible into leucin and tyrosin by the continued action of pancreatic juice. It is also formed from hemialbumose and albumin by boiling dilute sulphuric acid.
