• 1884, Sidney Coupland, Anæmia and Allied Conditions, in The Year‐Book of Treatment for 1884, page #84:In a brief appendix he details a few cases of leukhæmia, in two of which very notable improvements followed the use of arsenic for a time ; and the examinations of the blood seemed to show that this was due to the arsenic operating harmfully on the white corpuscles.
