Origin
Borrowed from Classical Latin nectareus ("of nectarâ€, “tinged with nectarâ€, “sweet as nectar"), from Ancient Greek νεκτάÏεος (nektareos, "sweet as nectarâ€, “fragrant"), which is derived from νÎÎºÏ„Î±Ï (nektar, "nectar"). Can also be analysed as nectar + -eous.
