1. (rare, obsolete) The study of worms.
• 1883, Richard Smith Elliott, Notes Taken in Sixty Years, Everybody was deep in arboriculture and vermeology; and what we did not know about mulberry trees for feeding silk worms was not worth knowing; and what we did not know about worms, and 'the diet of worms,' and cocoons, and reeling of fibre, and weaving of silk and satin could not be learned.
